  • Peter McDermott

    Founder and Managing Director

    Founder of Golden Oldies Cricket, first held in Auckland in 1984, Peter founded VSL in 2000. His successful career in sporting management and administration includes several years as Chairman of New Zealand Cricket, Co-Chair of the 1992 Cricket World Cup, Chairman of Life Saving Bay of Plenty, as well as being a member of various regional sporting trusts and a member of the Eden Park Board of Control; New Zealand’s largest sports stadium.

    Peter provides a strong international network of contacts, leadership and quality assurance across all events managed by VSL.

  • Christine Augusto

    Director of Events

    Prior to joining VSL Christine had 13 years at Air New Zealand. 10 Years as a team leader in the wholesale sales office and three years as the Event Manager for Golden Oldies Hockey and Netball Festivals.

    Christine is still an active hockey player and multi-sport competitor completing her first full Ironman event in 2014. In 2012 she trekked to the Mount Everest Base Camp – she was too lazy to go all the way to the top!

    Christine can regularly be seen cycling, swimming or running around various parts of New Zealand.

    Founder and Office Manager

    Dianne has over 20 years’ experience in sports administration and management, including several years with New Zealand Cricket Inc., and eight years with HR Consultancy Sheffield Associates.

    Dianne’s role at VSL has included leading Softball Carnivals, providing support to both Vintage Cricket and Rugby Carnivals, and organising and running inbound sporting tours on behalf of VSL clients. Dianne is also responsible for the provision of all office management services for the VSL team.

  • Roger Carroll


    A (long time) sports enthusiast and manager, Roger’s experience prior to joining VSL includes representing New Zealand in yachting, managing a professional basketball team, running professional tennis tournaments and operating a graphic art and design business.

    Roger heads the communications for VSL whilst also leading VSL Golf events, including the five successful World Schools Golf Challenges.

    Roger also provides support for Vintage Cricket Carnivals, and is a tour leader for both golf and cricket tours.

  • Ellie Bigsby

    Marketing Co-Ordinator

    Ellie is the resident Brit of the office who joined the VSL team after completing her conjoint degree in Sports Management and Marketing. Ellie is very well traveled and although she has been living in New Zealand for the past ten years, she has also lived in England and France.

    Prior to joining the VSL team, Ellie interned at Triathlon New Zealand, Harbour Sport and the New Zealand Breakers. Ellie provides support to our Events and Marketing team and on the weekends can be found on the Football (Soccer) field, showing her support.

  • Mike Godinet

    Golden Oldies 2018 Christchurch Celebration Manager

    Mike has decades of experience in participation and headline event management.

    Mike has joined the VSL team to head up the Golden Oldies 2018 Christchurch Celebration, which will bring in over 10,000 international visitors to Christchurch for the month of April in 2018.

  • Rafael Augusto

    I.T Administrator

    Rafael has a background of Acting and I.T. With completing his diploma in 2014 in on-screen acting and working for more than 2 years as a Junior I.T consultant, he has the enthusiasm and skills to get work done.

    Stepping off the squash courts and onto many airplanes Rafael has also been traveling around the world looking for adventure and seeing family.

    When he isn’t on the TV screen he is here in VSL; building our websites, crafting our newsletters and spreading the word on social media as well as computer maintenance around the office for other staff members.

  • Michael Kerrisk

    Event Manager - Rugby

    Mike brings considerable experience in Sports & Events Management to the team here at VSL.

    With over 20 years in the industry and  a competitive athlete background in Rugby, Rugby Sevens playing at club-premier and representative-provincial levels respectively, Moto-Cross and Tennis – Mike is a ‘self-confessed all-sports tragic’ who can be found spectating at any given sport when he is not working or participating at it.

    He now enjoys what he describes as the more ‘sedate and therapeutic hobbies’ of Surfing; Motorcycling and getting to the Gym when he can.

    Mike comes to VSL from working as a General Manager for Tauranga Hockey Association.

    Prior to this Mike spent 7 seasons as the Rugby Operations Manager for Tasman Rugby Union where he was heavily involved in Match/Event Management at the 2011 Rugby World Cup; ITM Cup (Mitre 10) and Super Rugby.

    New Zealand Rugby have also contracted Mike to work on various Women’s Sevens projects and Tournaments.

    Mike is our Event Manager for Rugby and Schools Rugby and looks forward to working with the Rugby Communities on delivering some wonderful Rugby experiences.

  • Lee-Ann Gilbert

    Finance Manager

    Previous to joining VSL, Lee-Ann had 10+ years’ experience in General Management in the actions sports (surf, snow, skateboarding) and fashion industries.

    Having previously built and sold a successful eyewear & snow goggle brand in the action sports market as well as running an iconic New Zealand fashion and jewellery brand.  She brings, vast experience in business management from accounting and finance to sales and marketing.

    Lee-Ann can be found in her spare time spending time with her family, at the beach enjoying the sunshine or walking the dog and socializing with friends.

    Lee-Ann’s primary role at VSL is Financial Controller and she enjoys being involved in all aspects of the business.

  • Lloyd Gilmore

    North American representative

    During a 20-year career in sports, Lloyd’s career has included hands on roles in golf, the ATP tour and Americas Cup.

    He had four year involvement in the Americas Cup as Oracle Team USA’s Supplier Sponsorship manager, where he developed dynamic and engaging campaigns utilising Oracle Team USA and the team’s athletes.

    Prior to this he managed event logistics and sponsorship solutions to the ATP Men’s Tennis Tour. He also founded and managed a unique golf retail and hospitality business based in New Zealand.

    Leveraging his sponsorship and business background, Lloyd works with organizations to identify sports properties that are able to deliver the organization’s business objectives.

UK Office


    Head of UK and Europe

    After four years in the New Zealand Headquarters our genial Welshman, Paul Guest, returned to the UK to give us on the spot representation for all Golden Oldies, Vintage and School events.

    Based in London, Paul launched VSL UK with the hugely successful 2016 Golden Oldies World Rugby Festival in Cardiff. Paul is continuing to develop the VSL brands throughout Europe as well as introducing some new events to the UK.

    When not working, you’ll probably find Paul either up a mountain, on his bike (finding mountains) or in the sea (recovering from mountains).
