We’ve received a special thank you from one of our #GoldenOldies from the Midwest, USA – Bill Haz Haase of the The Olde barking Dogs shared a photo of his junior team in Iowa showing the reach the Golden Oldies rugby community has:
“Several members of The Olde Barking Dogs touring side met up in Mason City, Iowa in June to take part in River City Rugby’s 11th Annual Old Boys Clash. Quite a few of the OBDs are alumni of the Northern Iowa Club that was established in 1972.
Over 50 youth Rugby players took part in flag Rugby games, and close to 100 players participated in the ‘Old Boys’ matches held.
Myself and my fellow Olde Barking Dogs had an amazing time in Cardiff last year! I collected over 30 stress balls from the Finale DInner in the Principality Stadium to bring back to Iowa that yo ucan see in the photo below. I knew our little ruggers would love them.
We also have a full womens side for the first time going to Christchurch, New Zealand in 2018. It is going to be epic.
This will be my 7th Olde Barking Dogs tour and we CAN…. NOT…. WAIT until April of 2018!”
If you want to join the Olde barking Dogs (and over 100 other teams who have also registered) in New Zealand next year for the 22nd Golden Oldies World Rugby Festival or are just looking for some more information then send an email to email@example.com.
We also love sharing photos of what you’re all doing in your rugby communities around the world – so if you have anything you want to share, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll feature it on this page!
