Vintage Sport & Leisure Ltd (VSL) take great pleasure in announcing Guildford Grammar School, Perth, as official host school for the 2018 World Schools Hockey Challenge, 8th to 14th July 2018.
Magnificently situated on the banks of the Swan River, 15 km from the Perth CBD, lies Guildford Grammar School. Founded in 1896, sitting on 100 hectares of undulating land, the campus is acknowledged as one of the most picturesque in Australia. East Guildford Train station adjoins the campus, providing a convenient direct link to central Perth. 130 students board at Guildford Grammar School and it is these facilities that will accommodate participants in the World Schools Hockey Challenge next year.
Guildford Grammar School’s ‘state of the art’ hockey turf will be used in competition play. In May this year the school unveiled their new world class synthetic hockey turf. This surface is the same as was used at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.
The school will also host both the Opening Function, and the Closing Awards Dinner Function. These two events will be held jointly with the World Schools Golf Challenge teams, also playing in Perth during the same week. Hale Hockey Club will also be used for hockey matches, and all players and coaches will be transported as necessary for their matches.
